What We Do

CASA recruits, trains and supervises competent volunteers dedicated to advocating for the needs of abused and neglected children currently in court proceedings, who are too young to speak for themselves during the complicated maze of legal proceedings.

Our History

In 1977, a Seattle juvenile court judge concerned about making drastic decisions with insufficient information conceived the idea of volunteers speaking up for the best interests of children who had been neglected or abused, in the courtroom.

The Virginia Department of Social Services operates a Child Protective Services Hotline. Calls are accepted at anytime and are referred to the appropriate local department for a response.
